GAS60

Saturday June 16, 2012

The Gas60 is a 60 mile canoe and kayak race on the Gasconade River that starts in Jerome MO. The race finishes at Pointer’s Creek Boat Ramp (just a few miles SE on Linn, MO). Two mandatory check points are strategically placed for the safety of every participant. Check point cutoff times are posted below but could be adjusted the day of the race.

Please help us keep you safe on the river. Each check point will be staffed by race volunteers for the racers safety. Please inform a race volunteer or the safety boat if you decide to withdraw from the race. Racers ARE required to stop at Paydown and Rollins Ferry to be signed in by the race officials. You must confirm that you have been signed in by the race official or you could be disqualified. The volunteer will read out your four digit boat number confirming that you have been signed in. Every boat must have a four digit boat number visible on both sides of the bow of their boat.

The only way paddlers can pre-register is on this site. Registration opens Feb 1st. Fill out all the forms and pay via pay-pal (no pay pal account is needed). Everyone else is at the mercy of registering the day of the race with cash or check. After May 16th, the registration fee goes up to $50 per paddler. If there are any paddlers unable to to register online please see the Contact Us page.  If you receive a confirmation email after you register, you are most likely good to go. The roster will be updated once a week on Monday night. If your name is listed on the roster your registration is complete.

Due to lack of participation in the C1 and C2 divions last year, I have reverted back to the original boat divions. Cash prizes will be awarded to all first place finishers, except no contest. The top finisher overall will also receive an additional cash prize. The purse amount will depend on sponsorship and participation.

June 16th is the longest Sat. of the year!!!
